Colds and Flus
The flu season is upon us, and no one wants to be home sick with the sniffles and coughs, not to mention stomach upsets. Flu shots are available at the doctor's office, in the drugstores, and almost everywhere. They can prevent most flus. The Center for Disease Control and the World health Org. select several strains of flu viruses for inococulation. However it is possible to catch other flus, and that is why some people say "I got my flu shot, and I caught the flu anyway".
I recommend prevention in other ways. Being aware of our hands and what they touch can prevent cross-contamination simply by washing the hands or using hand sanitizer. This is so important when eating in a restaurant. The menu for example is quite germy, more so than a toilet seat. After using one, either use hand sanitizer or wash the hands. Make sure your hands are clean whenever you eat or prepare food.
Touching door handles, money, keyboards, TV remotes, and grocery store carts are just a few of the things that can harbor cold and flu viruses. Even your daily mail or newspaper can make you sick if you aren't aware and practice prevention. Stay healthy, it's possible with a little effort.
