Healthy Is As Healthy Does

Remember when your mother would remind you to brush your teeth? Well now we know how important good oral health is to the rest of the body. Heart and circulatory problems can be directly caused by inflammation stemming from gum infections. Floss the teeth that you want to keep.

Another good piece of advice is “get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night”, Teenagers need even more than that. Immune systems depend on adequate sleep. Brain functions can do poorly when sleep requirements are not met. Hey, falling asleep at the wheel can be fatal.

“Couch Potato” is a modern word. It seems that we got more exercise before due to less driving, more walking, and as part of our labor. The benefits of just 30 minutes of exercise per day are numerous. It promotes bone health, lung capacity, joint functioning, weight stability, good blood circulation, and more. It is even recommended to help prevent diabetes II. Walking doesn’t cost anything.

“You are what you eat,” How many times have you heard that one? Those who believe that and eat that way read the labels on cans and boxes, seek out organic produce, drink filtered water, and follow good nutrition guidelines. We are bombarded by toxins in our water, in our air, in our food, in our personal products and everything else. Our bodies can throw off these toxins if not overwhelmed. A healthy lifestyle is the answer to a good immune system.

Lastly, prevent infections and illness caused by cross-contamination. Those sensor-operated dispensers in public restrooms give you water, soap, and towels automatically and touchfree. You don’t have to handle toilet flushers or doors either. Keep up with vaccinations and shots when they are due. A good quality of life is a healthy life.
